Indianapolis, Leah May Wills 85 passed away on March 25th 2024. She was born May 30th 1938 in Chicago Illinois, the daughter of Richard and Juanita Powers.
Leah graduated from Edwardsburg High School class of 1956. After high school she married, John Wills Sr. later in life. She met Joel R Smith, he was her companion for many years. Leah retired from St. Paul's nursing home as a dietary supervisor. Leah loved to play bingo and crochet most of all she loved her family.
In addition to her parents, Richard and Juanita Powers who proceeded her in death was her husband John Wills Sr and her sisters Febphie Barnette, Ruby Rachel Powers, her brother Richard Joseph Powers Jr, grandsons Joush'a Lewis, Jabari Wills, granddaughter Lillie Neal, and son in law Michael Wilson.
Surviving are her brother Norfleet Powers of Elkhart IN, her companion Joel R. Smith of Indianapolis IN, her daughter Mary Wardlow (James Wardlow) of Indianapolis, Ella Lewis (William Adkins)of South Bend, Ardienia Wilson, Leah Wills McNary (Anthony McNary), Betty Wills Seward (Marcus Seward) all of Indianapolis, her son John Wills Jr. (Katasha McLead) of South Bend.
Leah has 23 grand children 40 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She has one special friend Elizabeth Bridges.
A Celebration of life will be held on Wednesday April 10th 2024, viewing 10:30 AM service at 11:30 AM at Antioch Glory Center Church 2437 Miracle LN Mishawaka IN, 46545 Interment will be held at Highland Cemetery South Bend, IN.
