Lizzie King Obituary

The Journey of a beautiful spirit

Lizzie Lee King of South Bend, Indiana passed away March 12, 2019 of natural causes. She was born May 17, 1951 to Rosie Lee King and the late Frank King in Drew, Mississippi and later they moved to Detroit, Michigan where Liz graduated from the Michigan School System. She then gave birth to two beautiful daughters: Rosie Gist Bey (1970) and Davina King(1972). After that, Liz moved to Chicago, Illinois where she worked at the O’hare International Airport then in 1982 moved to South Bend, Indiana which is where she made her home. She began working at Signature Group & South Bend Regional Airport for many years. Let us celebrate her powerful journey and the eternal life that has gone on to her next task.

Lizzie was a strong beautiful black queen who strived for the best. She was motivated to work so that she could provide for her family & friends. She made sure her daughters were involved in community activities such as church, gymnastics, volleyball, jump-rope etc. Liz loved to cook, hang out with all of her family, play cards, go to the casino, and reading was also one of her passions. When Lizzie loved, she loved unconditionally. Regardless  of who you were, she always spoke her mind but if needed Liz would also give you the shirt off of her back. Let her Life be strength and inspiration to those who loved her.

She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory; her mother; Mrs. Rosie Lee King, her children; Rosie Gist Bey (Lashuan Gist Bey), Davina King; her grandchildren; Kierra Allen, Kenneth Anderson, Cliniqua Kyle, Kameron Gatson, Endiga Bradford. Great-grandchildren; Kenneth Anderson Jr, Ryann Allen, Kaydon Anderson, Kaylynn Anderson, Carmelo Chavers. Her siblings; Dorothy Mason, Sarah Johnson, Elsie Butler, Frankie Williams, Clare Jones, Jessie King, Jimmy King, Patricia King and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is now reunited with her loving sister Emma Lee Hayes, her brother James Wesley Jr. Father Frank King & her Uncle Henry Jones.
