  • Barry Dale Spann 65, of Elkhart, IN departed life 10:00 AM on December 9, 2021, at the Woodland Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was employed with Patrick Industries Adorn. Barry was born on September 9, 1956 in Jackson, TN. The family later relocated to Alton, IL in 1960 where he attended school and graduated from Alton Senior High School in 1975. He was a track runner and scholar who loved to read.

  • Our Barry was a loving, caring and intelligent soul that touched many. He is survived by his sister Marilyn (Tyson) Rivers of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers Marshall Tyson of South Bend, IN and Mack Tyson of Alton, IL ; Four uncles James Spann Sr., Robert Spann Sr., Joe Spann and Roland Spann all of South Bend, IN along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends (Norah Family, Green Family) He was preceded in death by his Mother Vera D (Spann) Tyson; two brothers: Stephen Spann and Kenny Spann and one sister: Joyce Little.

  • A Celebration of life will take place on December 18, 2021 at 3:30 with a viewing one-hour prior at Laymen Chapel CME Church 303 S. Kenmore St. South Bend, IN. Arrangements have been entrusted to www.boydandsonfuneralhome.com where condolence may be shared.
