Daniel Groves

Daniel Groves 69 of South Bend, IN was born to the union of Joella and J.D. Groves on February 25, 1953 in Columbus, Mississippi one of seven children. The Groves family would later relocate to South Bend, IN. Daniel received his formal education in the South Bend Community School Corporation as part of the Riley class of 1973. Mr. Groves employment was with various cleaning and restaurant companies: CSI Cleaning, Emporium Restaurant, and the wooden keg to name a few. He enjoyed keeping his hands busy, spending time with family and keeping his family laughing. He had his little sayings “Dan the Man” and was one of a kind. Family was important to him, and he kept them near his heart.

Our Father, Brother, grandfather, great grandfather, cousin and friend leaves a legacy of family to cherish his memory: Five Children: Danielle Groves of Indianapolis, IN, Devon Groves and Daniel Groves Jr. both of South Bend, IN, Tierro (Berenice) Groves of Illinois, and Cierrah Groves of Illinois. Two Brothers: L.J. (Sharon) Groves and Leon Groves both of South Bend, IN; Three Sisters: Clair Kyle and Dorothy Groves-Kirkendoll both of South Bend, IN and Charlene Groves and 14 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren and  a host of cousins, family and friends.

Mr. Groves found rest to be reunited with his loved ones that have passed on: Parents: Joella and J.D., Two Sons:  Delano Groves and Jaron Groves, One Brother  “Uncle Pete” Hosie, Grandparents: Mama Clair and Tommy Groves Sr., Grandson Jason Lottie.  

Funeral Service will take place on Thursday September 29, 2022 Family gathering 10:30AM, Service 11AM at Greater St. Mathew Church 2705 Marquette Blvd. Burial immediately following at Highland Cemetery. Arrangements are Entrusted to www.boydandsonfuneralhome.com where condolences may be shared.
