Mr. Earl Jerome Campbell, 66, of South Bend, Indiana departed this life on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 11, 1958 to Viola Mae Campbell and Erksine Givens. Earl’s journey began in Chicago and he received his education in the Chicago School system. He graduated high school in 1979. Shortly after he began a new chapter by relocating to South Bend. Earl’s work career consisted of employment at The Logan Center and the South Bend Regional Airport. He also held various part time positions and worked until his health cause him to become disabled. In 1981 Earl met the love of his life, Francine Caldwell; after many years of courtship the two were united in Holy Matrimony on May 13, 1995. Earl loved the Lord and knew from whence cometh his help.
He was a member of Laymen Chapel CME Church where he served on the Usher Board and fulfilled that role until his health no longer permitted. Earl loved all genres of music. He especially loved being a DJ and playing a lot of Rhythm and Blues. His love for music positioned him to really cut a rug on the dance floor and he was a master at Stepping. He was a bit of a Dapper Dan and was sharply dressed on most occasions. He enjoyed being around people and simply loved life itself. His favorite colors were light blue and white; his favorite foods were chicken wings and turkey and dressing. Earl enjoyed cooking and especially loved cooking big Sunday meals. He also enjoyed going to the Casino and he would actually win now and then.
Earl is survived by his Wife Francine Campbell; two children Erica Campbell and Earl Campbell Jr.; his siblings, Catherine Forest, Alex Campbell, Pamela Gathright, Sylvia Crenshaw, Diane Williams, Marsha Campbell, E.G. (Mabel) Campbell, Eyvon Campbell, Vicky Sue Campbell and Valentia Campbell; his mother-in law, Mrs. Dorris Caldwell; 2 sisters-in-law, Debra (Earl) Walker and Stephanie Caldwell, along with many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Charles Campbell, Henry Campbell, Carl Campbell, Erskine Campbell Jr., Doritha Campbell, Theresa Campbell and Ernestine Campbell Sleep on dearest Earl and take your rest. You know we all love you, but God loves you best. You will be dearly missed!
