Elder Ben Miles III (Tac) entered this world on May 1, 1948 in Memphis, TN the second eldest to Margaret Ethel (Evans) and Ben Miles Jr. In early 1952 his parents relocated to South Bend. On April 21, 2026 God called Ben’s name and he answered, he is now resting in the arms of Jesus.
Ben was educated in the South Bend Community School Corporation graduating from Washington High School in 1967. Ben was a devoted employee of Bendix/Honeywell for 50 plus years. Several of his favorite pass times were racing his red 63 ½ Ford Galaxy 500, hunting, fishing, grilling, cutting hair and caring for his Beagles. His early Christian upbringing began at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Dave Davis. At present he was a dedicated member of Faith Alive Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Eddie L. Miller and Pastor Jonathan (YPJ) Miller where he served as a gate keeper for over 20 years and also a member of the leadership ministry.
On November 9, 1973 he was united in marriage to Margaret Miller in South Bend. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, bonus daughter Michele (Tony) Bradley of Melissa, Tx, three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also surviving is one brother George A. Miles Sr, two sisters Phyllis (Michael Sr) Phillips and Janice (Wayne Jr) Batteast, all of South Bend and sister-in-law Ruth (Manoah) Burns, Battle Creek, MI.
He was preceded by his parents, one sister Earlyne Poe-Key and one brother Ralph H. Miles Sr. Celebration of life will take place on Thursday April 30, 2026 at 12Noon with a viewing one-hour prior at Faith Alive Ministiries. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, Indiana. Arrangements have been entrusted to www.boydandsonfuneralhome.com where condolences may be shared.
