Gloria Jean Jones

Don't grieve for me. I'm no longer sick. My father heard my cry, he saw my sleepless nights, and although you may be hurting because I'm no longer here, I'm no longer in pain; so please don't grieve for me. I'm now in my mini mansion without any sleepless nights or sickness. My love will always be with you.

Miss Gloria Jean Hampton - Jones was born to the late Betty Hampton, CW Faulkner and Clarence Hampton on May 4, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois Cook County. She received her formal education from Oliver and Washington High in the South Bend Community School Corporation. While there she met many friends who became family over the decades. The persistent, determined and unstoppable Gloria would attend Job Core and receive her G.E.D. and continued her education by attending Davenport College.

Gloria Jones 57, of South Bend Indiana retired from Chassix as a quality inspector. For over 10 faithful years Gloria worked as a CNA at Elkhart General providing care and compassion to patients, staff and visitors. Gloria loved traveling and being on the road, she turned it into a career as a bus driver at the South Bend Community School Corporation for seven years.

She leaves to cherish her memory Christopher B Jones, life-long partner, one daughter, Sebre Jones Three Sisters: Ponze Hampton, Sequita Howard, Johnnie Mae Faulkner; Three Grandchildren: Lamont Gillam, Christopher White and Christian Gillam; One special niece, Phoenix Mack & One special nephew, Josiah Mack. Gloria was the aunt and great aunt of many as well as the neighborhood Nana. Gloria was also blessed with two God Children: Ronnetta Black and Latoya Black and one God Brother Eric Boyd.

Gloria Jones departed this life in the comfort of her home at 5:45 AM on June 2, 2025 in her loving daughter’s arms. She found rest knowing she would reunite with her heavenly family waiting on her: Her beautiful mother Mrs. Betty Hampton, Father Mr. Clarence Hampton and a host of aunts and uncles and her beloved dog-children Smoke-Smoke and Star.
