Ms. Huberta Ann “Peaches” Casey 64, of South Bend, IN found rest on Sunday December 19, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Peaches was born to Luke T. Casey and Irene Minnis on December 13, 1957 in South Bend, IN. Peaches lives and grew up in South Bend, a proud graduate of the LaSalle High School class of 1976. After high school she immediately started a career in trucking dispatch, working eighteen years with South Bend Freight, Inc. until they closed their doors. She continued to do dispatch, shipping and receiving until officially retiring in 2018.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Traveling and taking family trips was a joy of hers, but they could never manage to get her to fly or on a boat. This made for long trips, but time well spent. Peaches was an unofficial mom to all her childrens friends. Peaches fed any and everyone. You could not to leave the house without eating, no if ands or buts. Her favorite fruit to give the grandbabies were sliced honey crisp apples. She kept a bag of greens in the freezer for anybody who wanted some and instead of mints, she always kept mini heath bars to pass out. Peaches was sweet, but don’t let the smile fool you; Peaches would tell it like it was, not backing down from an argument, all in love. Peaches was the life of the party; she knew how to play a hand of cards and could hold her own. She would be up all night playing tunk with her siblings when she had the opportunity and weekly with her kids and “honey bunny”.
At the age of 15, Peaches met her high school sweetheart Kyle Robinson and they became inseparable ever since; together they raised three beautiful Children: Cameron (Kyla) Robinson, Carmon (Redginald) Robinson, Camille Robinson, a bonus daughter Kylea (Noel) Robinson that she loved as her own all of South Bend, IN. Peaches and Kyle were blessed with Nine Grandchildren: Ciarra, Camisa, Cameron Jr., Camiya, Cerenity, Jaylin, Dajah, Jezia and Janyla and eight great grandchildren.
Loving Siblings left to cherish her memory include: Ronalda Minnis of Indianapolis, Arthur (Dana) Lattimore and Bluthers (Noly) Casey of South Bend, IN; Darlene Minnis of Georgia, Chris Giden of South Bend, In. Wanda Irby of Oklahoma, Donald (Jamie)Thomas of Florida and David Adams of Texas. She also leaves a host of special nieces and nephews that she held her own personal relationship with each individually. Special cousins and friends as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Orie Lee Watson of Georgia, Willie Minnis and Cecil Minnis of South Bend,Charles Lee Casey of St. Louis, Mo; Keith Giden of South Bend, IN and Larry Washington of South Bend, IN.
