Ishika Cross, born on October 29, 1982, in South Bend, In. She departed this earthly life at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 6, 2025. Though the sun set too soon, the warmth of her love, laughter, and unforgettable spirit continues to shine in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A friendly soul and a loving heart, Ishika moved through life as a beacon of peace. A protector by nature, she resolved differences not with argument, but with empathy. She cultivated harmony in her world, lighting each room she entered with a radiant smile. Her laughter—genuine, playful, unforgettable—was often the centerpiece of a family gathering.
She was the heart of her family, the hands behind countless home-cooked meals that filled bellies and warmed souls. Known for being the family jokester, she found joy in bringing smiles to the faces of those she loved. Her kitchen was a sanctuary, her hugs a healing balm, and her words a soothing melody to anyone in need.
Ishika’s legacy lives on through her loving daughter, Micaiha Cross; her sons, Andrew Grant, Keshaun Cross, and Taynhc Cross; and her three cherished grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Nanette Austin; stepfather, Zarumin Coleman Sr.; sister, Jayne Austin; brothers, Kenneth West and Zarumin Coleman Jr.; aunt, Clarise Reynolds; and special friend, Jerry Brewster, Godmother Jean Cross. A host of cousins, family members, and friends will forever hold her memory close.
She reunites in peace with her beloved father, Richard Reynolds; aunts Andrea Reynolds; grandfather Andrew Reynolds; and Grandmother Anna B. Reynolds, Grandparents: Mary Cross and Sherwood Cross. Though the pain of her absence lingers, the joy she brought into the lives of all who knew her will never fade.
Ishika Cross was friendly, loving, and funny, gifts she gifted freely and fully. May her kindness echo through every shared memory, and her spirit live on in stories told around dinner tables, laughter shared between loved ones, and the meals made with heart and soul, just like hers.
