James Oscar Black “Black” was born May 30, 1965 to Estelle E. Black and John W. Black Sr. of Chicago, Illinois. James attended Dodge Elementary School and Reberto Clemante High School of Chicago, Illinois. James moved to South Bend in 1995. James was a jack of all trades, and he was very Crafty with his hands. There was no task James couldn’t conquer from maintenance and mechanics to lawn care. He could take apart a house or car and put it back together in two days if you needed him to. His dedication led him to work at Global Parts Network in South Bend, IN until his health failed him.
James was proceeded in death by his mothers: Estelle E. Black, Latricia A. Black, Ammie Lee Walker. His Son: Julius M. Spells, His Daughter: Tanisha Daniels, Sisters: Crystal Ray Berry and Latonya Annette Moore, His Brothers: Thomas Walker and Albert Walker. Nephews: Marshaun Black and Ulysses Pole III
James leaves to cherish his loving memory: The love of his life Charlotte Anderson of (26years). His Beloved Father: John W. Black Sr.; His Cherished Aunts and Uncles: Jaqueline Black-Miller, Amos Black, John and Inez Marshall. James also leaves behind his treasured Children Lekia Spells, Keisha Spells, Antonio Spells, Jackhai Crockwell, Mario Daniels, Thomas Maybell, Kiana McGee, Amisha Anderson and Mariah Jordan. James will be deeply missed by his siblings: John (Latessia) Black Jr., Kimberly Black, Marshane Shelby, Inez Black, Regina (Octavius) Meauhead, Micha Black, Melanie Harrison, Linda (Daryl) Williams, Maurice Purnell and John Shelby. 22 grandchildren, 1 great Grandchild, and a host of Relatives and Friends.
James Oscar Black presence will forever be missed, and his memory will be held dear by all those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he find peace and rest in the comforting embrace of the Lord.
