James Bert Hall

Mr. James “June” Bert Hall 73 was born to union of George and Dora Mae (Ross) Hall on October 2, 1950 in Okolona, Arkansas. He attended Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake, Washington in July of 1972. June would serve proudly in the United States Army in the Armored Calvary 72-1983. He traveled overseas in Germany and Korea earning A National Defense Service Metal. He also received Rifle Marksmanship Award.

He would use his strong work ethics and discipline to fuel his passion for the culinary arts. June enjoyed cooking at Marriott Hotel and Notre Dame and made a successful career out of it until his health declined.

June is survived by his loving family. Siblings: Donna (Sug) Ward of New Haven, CT; Michael Hall of Indianapolis, IN; Margaret Murphy, Lisa (Robert) Allen, George Hall, Robert Hall and Floyd Cunningham all of South Bend, IN. Jean Caldwell, Avery Savage, Pastor Bobby Savage of North Little Rock, Arkansas.

Step Siblings of Detroit: Lonnie Cunningham, Brenda Broom, Charlotte Cunningham, Ruthie Rue Cunningham, Rodney Cunningham, Lamar Cunningham, and melody Cunningham-Patton. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by: Parents, siblings: Nathaniel Hall, William Savage, Evelyna Savage Magnolia Cunningham, Marie Savage, Dennis Cunningham. Step Brother: Mack Charles.

A Celebration of life will take place on Thursday April 25th, 2024 Viewing 10AM, Service 11AM at Layman Chapel CME Church.
