Mr. James “Bull” L. Byrd 75, of South Bend, IN was born to the union of Alexander Byrd and Anna Byrd on April 9, 1948 in Metter GA. He received his formal education from the public school system in Metter and would go on to work various Jobs. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and having a good time. He never met a stranger, and Bull loved women. He considered West Bend Nursing Home his home for over five years, and he absolutely adored the staff and residents there. Our brother, uncle, cousin and friend gave us so much joy, beautiful memories and love and we are thankful for having Bull in our lives. He leaves to cherish his loving memory Three strong sons: Carlos Byrd, Julian Byrd and Jerry Ruffin all of Indiana; Three loving Sisters: Betty (Eugene) Williams of South Bend, IN; Mae Sue (TW) Dekle of Metter, Ga; Jenny Faye Olive of South Bend, In; Brothers: Jimmy Byrd of South Bend, IN; Hank Summerlin of South Bend, IN; 18 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Very Special Friend Isaac Hadley of Elkhart, IN. On October 2, 2023 Bull was called home to rest. He was preceded in death by his Parents, daughters: Serena Byrd and Kia Byrd; Sisters: Annie Brinson, Annie Lois and Eubie Bryd; Brother: James Lee Byrd.
