Joe O Mobley

Joe Mobley 66, of South Bend, IN went home to be with the Lord on August 27, 2024. Joe entered this world on December 6, 1957, to Jessie (Canada) Smith.

Joe was born in South Bend, IN where he attended South Bend Community Schools. Joe worked for R & L Carriers as a truck driver until he retired.  Joe was a faithful member of New Birth Christian Ministry under the leadership of Cory L. Gathright Sr..

Joe had a passion for electronics, some may know him as the CD Man, doing CD’S, DVD’S, to firesticks. Joe loved spending quality time with his family and friends.

Joe leaves to cherish his wife Deborah M. Mobley of South Bend, his mother Jessie McClain (Smith) of South Bend, his siblings Cedric Smith Sr., Bernice Harris, Charlene Smith all of South Bend, Karen Lynn (Richard) Gordon of Minnesota, Brian Johnson of Milwaukee. Joe also leaves behind his stepchildren Derrick (Demicka) Perry, Larry Perry Jr., Tewanna Perry, also left to cherish his memories is a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members and life long friends.

Special friends: Michael Johnson, Jake Gaines, James Seward, Terry “Terry Dogg” Austin, Kenneth “K-West” West Jr.

Joe was preceded in death by his stepson Curtis Perry, his sisters Myrtle Smith, Jennett Johnson, Nettie Williams, Catherine Grundy-Davis and brother Melvin Smith.

Service Saturday September 7, 2024 at Life Changers (Greater St Mathew Church) 2705 Marquette Blvd South Bend, IN. 11AM Viewing 12 noon Service. Burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
