Michael Eugene Herron, 66 of South Bend transitoned from this earthly life on Wednesday July 17, 2024. Michael was a life long resident of South Bend, born July 22, 1957 to the union of Superintendent James E. and Missionary LaVerne Herron. He was a beloved figure in his Southeast Side community, graduating from Riley High School. Michael's life was a beautiful blend of love, resilience, and joy that left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. His beautiful spirit, strength, and unwavering love will be forever missed and remembered. His legacy is defined by the imprint he left on the hearts of all with love, laughter, and hugs. Let us remember Michael not with tears of sorrow but with smiles of gratitude. His love for his family invariably shone through his actions and words, making every family reunion a delightful event to look forward to. Michael had a love for car's expecially his Cadillac and would be seen often riding around town on his moped or in his truck helping others. Throughout his life, he continued to develop and value his relationship with the Lord. He later joined Revelations Church of God In Christ and he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (2 Timothy 4:7) His legacy and memory lives on through his only daughter Whitney Michelle Herron McCray, grandchildren Tyrianna, Eleyah, Tyran jr Moffitt and Sariyah Webb. His step Mother Pat Herron, six brothers Duane, James(Lisa) Pastor Elder Steve, Joseph, Raymond, and Shannon(Carla) Herron. Five sisters Regina(Archie) Morrell, Mother Sandra Harper, Tasha(Marcus) Washington, LaShayla Herron, and Nicole(Curtis) Mitchell. Special friend Mary Tribbey and a host of neices, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Joyce and Tracey Herron, Lois Thomas, one brother Charles Thomas, and brother-in-law David Harper Sr. Tribute to a Wonderful Grandpa in Heaven Now the room will no longer echo with his laughter, Since he's moved on into the mist of ever after. But to those who know and love him like we still do. His memory will warm our hearts till we go to heaven too.
Celebration of life will be Friday August 2, 2024 at 12 Noon with a viewing one hour prior at Revelation COGIC.
The repast will be held at Pavilion #2, Potawatomi Park, 500 S. Greenlawn Ave,South Bend. The Family would like to thank all those who sent cards, notes or any expressions of condolences, please continue to pray for us. Special thanks to Boyd & Son Funeral Home.
