Mr. Shawki Rashad Henderson

SOUTH BEND - On January 25, 1995 in South Bend, IN, Barbara Patton-Smith and Algerine Henderson III were blessed with a son, Shawki Rashad Henderson. Mr. Henderson attended Washington High School where he displayed his athletic abilities on the basketball team. He was a mama's boy at heart and family came first. Shawki was a hardworking cook with East Bank Emporium Restaurant in South Bend, IN. 

Mr. Henderson enjoyed spending time with friends and family, creating memories of laughter and joy. Music was a focal point in Shawki's life - he listened to it, danced to it, recorded it, and used it to share inspiration with the world. 

He leaves to cherish his loving memory: parents; stepfather, Bryant Smith; grandparents, Nettie Murphy & Algerine Henderson II, Mariella Smith & (the late Frederick Patton); and siblings: Marylynn and Willie Patton, Gabriel Taylor, Bryant Smith Jr., Diamond Smith; Anthony, Dartono, Whitney Ruth, Kenneth, Precious, Dailin, and Aaron Henderson, and Algerine Henderson IV. 

He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, and relatives to cherish his memory. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Laymen Chapel CME, 303 S. Kenmore St. Visitation is 12 noon, with Services at 1:00PM, Pastor Terrell A. Jackson officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Boyd and Son Funeral Home
