PRESTON L. WATTS

Mr. Preston L. Watts of Niles, Michigan was called home on October 4, 2022. He was born to the late Clark and Daisy Watts of Birmingham, AL on February 3, 1939, he was number 12 out of 16 children. He lived in Birmingham until the age of 17 and relocated to Chicago, IL to join his older brother. Preston had a very outgoing personality and was full of life at every family function. Preston could be seen entertaining all the kids at picnics: kite flying, playing softball and he would even play water balloon games. All the nieces and nephews loved him dearly, and he treated kids from all over as his own, no matter who they belonged to. He always had a smile that was out of this world, but if you rub him the wrong way, he would let you know it as well. After moving to Niles, Michigan Preston turned in to a real outdoors man, fishing and hunting in several states throughout his life. He always thought city life was it until he moved to Niles and saw the light. He like to call Bishop Miller his Pastor and felt he was a man of integrity.

He would help anyone and would often be a cab driver for anyone who needed a ride, of course you would have to hang on because that Chicago fast driver syndrome would kick in. Preston adored his in-laws and they adored him. Preston always appreciated his two very special close friends: JW Holt and Sweet C Robinson, you guys were dear to his heart. Jay; you and Sweet knew the true meaning of friendship. Preston will be truly missed by us all.

Preston leaves to cherish the person he has spent the last 41 years with, his wife Ruth who has cared for him during his time of illness until his time up on earth. Siblings- Alma Jenkins of Chicago, IL; Carolyn Gaston of Birmingham, AL; Daughter Debra Watts Collins of Pleasant Grove, AL; Sons Dwight Watts of Birmingham, AL; Evoir Barns of Birmingham, AL; Anthony of Birmingham, AL; Andre (Lisa) and Preston Jr. both of Chicago, IL; A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, one Son Patrick.

A 11:00 AM memorial Service in his honor will take place Friday October 14, 2022 with a family gathering one-hour prior at Faith Apostolic ministries. Arrangements are entrusted to www.boydandsonfuneralhome.com where condolences may be shared.
