Stevie D Thomas Sr.

Stevie Dwaine Thomas Sr. 47, of South Bend, IN, departed this earth on Monday, March 31, 2025 due to health complications. Stevie was born on September 7, 1977, in Killeen, TX where he resided with his parents until the family returned to South Bend.

Stevie received his education through South Bend Community School Corporation. If you knew Stevie when he was in high school, you knew him to be cool, calm, and collective. While in high school and as well as after, Stevie held various jobs in the healthcare and retail industries. Prior to his passing, Stevie worked for American Senior Communities.

Over the years Stevie became a home body in which he loved to relax, watch TV, and play an occasional video game. Stevie also loved spending time with his grandson, Jayden. Stevie didn’t have many hobbies, but he was always infatuated with collecting different firearms, gold jewelry, and Gucci apparel!

Stevie leaves to cherish his memories, his five children, Stevie Thomas Jr, Tashaunia Thomas, Sacario Thomas, Samiyah Thomas all of South Bend, IN. Sierra Thomas of Baton Rouge, LA. Two grandchildren, Jayden and Shanelle. His mother Gloria Simms-Welch South Bend, IN. Brothers, Carlton Earl (Kim) Thomas Jr. of Indianapolis, IN and Demetrius Thomas Sr., George Jones, and Shawn Jones all of South Bend, IN. One sister, Anissa Thomas of South Bend, IN. Three aunts, Rosalyn Thomas and Connie Hesiben of South Bend, IN and Katherine Hughley of Columbus, Ohio. Two uncles, Tommie Simms of Milwaukee, WI and John Simms of Marion, IN. As well as his special friend, Crystal Page. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that loved him dearly.

Stevie was preceded in death by his father, Carlton Earl (Cotton) Thomas Sr. and stepmother Margaret Thomas. Paternal grandparents Herbert Thomas Sr. and Margaret Thomas. Maternal grandparents Archie Simms Sr. and Elizabeth Simms. Aunts Irma (Jean) Thomas and Mary Thomas-Lacy. Uncles Herbert Thomas Sr., Robert Thomas Sr., William (Ray) Thomas, Yul Thomas Sr., Jimmy Simms, Archie Simms Jr., James Simms, and Charles Simms.

Services will be held Friday, April 18th, 2025, at Laymen Chapel CME Church in South Bend, IN. Stevie’s service will begin at noon.

The family of Stevie Thomas Sr. would like to extend their gratitude to Davita Irish Dialysis for caring for Stevie.  Arrangements under the direction of Boyd and Son Funeral Home, South Bend, IN.
