Terry Snelling

Terrance Lamar Snelling A.K.A Terry was born on May 4th, 1955, to Wilfred and Betty Phillips. Terry’s original name was Terrance Lamar Phillips before being adopted by his grandparents Howard and Georgiana Snelling. On Tuesday July 27th, 2021, surrounded by his children, he peacefully passed away. Terry accepted Christ at an early age.

Terry received his GED while incarcerated. Terry loved money, cars, clothes, and women. Terry enjoyed life and was full of life. Terry had a smile on his face every time you saw him. Terry enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandkids, family, working out, and working on his cars. Terry loved watching sports and one of his favorite teams was Notre Dame.

Terry is survived by his Stepmother Dolores Phillips; Two special women Belinda Faye Martin and Lynn (Nicholson) Ellis; Daughters; Titania Martin of Kalamazoo, MI, Tamara (Angela) Rutherford of Peoria, IL, Teneka Horton of South Bend, IN, Mia (Todd) Burrell and Ebony (Andre) Futch of Douglasville, GA. Sons; Terrance Lamar Snelling Jr., Demetrius Horton of South Bend, IN, Adonis Nicholson of Atlanta, GA, Marcus Ellis of Indianapolis, IN, and Avery Snelling of Kansas, MO. Special son Tige Fennesse of South Bend, IN. Sister: Mia (Marcus) Green, Brothers: Todd Phillips, Marvin Phillips, David Phillips and George Smith of CA, Michael (Dorothy) Lee, Ricky Lee Sr., and Jerome Lee of South Bend, IN. Aunts: Barbra Robinson, of Milwaukee, IL., Jean (Lee) Gillespie and Pearl Bowens of South Bend, IN. Uncles: Carlis R. Phillips Sr., Richard Adams, Thomas Phillips, and Joe (Billie) Wesley of South Bend, IN. Although Terry loved all his grandkids equally, he had a special bond with his grandson Terrance Martin and his granddaughters Azahya Davis, DaZahya Beverly and Nadia Nicholson. Special nephew Bammer Cedric Smith Jr., Special cousin Lil Bud Johnson of South Bend, IN. Terry also leaves to cherish his memories 30 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.

Terry is proceeded in death by his parents: Wilfred and Betty Phillips, maternal grandparents Howard and Georgiana Snelling, paternal grandparents Wiley and Alice Bud Phillips, brother: Wilfred Phillips Jr., Aunts: Shirley Umble, Deloris Lee, and Wilma Thompson. Uncles: Horace Fields, Wiley Phillips Jr., Melvin Phillips, and Fred Phillips. Grandson: Terrance DaShawn Snelling. Cousins: Brian Mays and Tony Walker.
