Tonya Elaine Newbill-Boyd

Desi Arnez Newbill and Laverne Ann Boyd welcomed Tonya Elaine Newbill-Boyd into the world on November 11, 1967 in South Bend, IN.  Tonya was raised and received her first communion at Saint Augustine Catholic Church. She would later graduate from St. Adalbert School where she ran track.

Our Tonya loved singing, cooking, dancing and could talk up the most original conversations. She was always a positive presence to be around, making the best out of life. Her presence was genuine and one of a kind. Her popularity followed her life.  Family was important and she would make the most of life’s most precious moments.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, Seven Children: Davonne Boyd, Davante Newbill and Ashleigh Boyd all of Indianapolis, IN; DeAngelo Boyd, Dabian Boyd and Jasmine Newbill all of South Bend, IN; and Raheem Newbill of St. Louis, MO; Eight grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Tonya is also survived by her siblings: Robert Boyd of South Bend, IN and Chakiena Renee Lacy of Alanta, GA., Deszon Newbill, Parnez Newbill and Desatori Newbill all of Kaysville, Utah. Her grandmother Marian Newbill, her long-time companion Gerald Ogden and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.  Tonya Elaine Newbill-Boyd of South Bend, IN transitioned on Saturday March 19, 2022 at her residence. She was preceded by her Mother Laverne Ann Boyd, brother Desi Newbill Jr.

Funeral Mass will take place 11 A.M. Saturday April 2, 2022 with a viewing one-hour prior at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to www.boydandsonfuneralhome.com where condolences may be made.
