Mrs. Viola Mae Douglas-Brown, 70 was born to the union of Tommie and Lucille Douglas on January 31, 1951 in South Bend, IN. She was a proud graduate of Washington High School class of 1969. She attended the College of Commerce in South Bend and began a career in the culinary arts. Mrs. Viola worked over nine years in the Notre Dame Food Service Department.
Viola married the love of her life Charles L. Brown in 1980 and from that union they raised Three beautiful children: Aisha Douglas, Carla Agnew and Charles LB Douglas Jr.
Our family Jewel was a collector of many small ceramic cats, lions, tigers and felines. Family was important to her and she held them to her heart. It was those little things about her that made her so special to so many people. Her kitchen was warm, her pies were sweet, her cheesecakes created silence; as people would be lost for words. She knew the recipes like the back of her hand; adding a little bit of sugar and love to everything she made.
She is survived by her loving children: Aisha Douglas, Carla Agnew, and Charles LB Douglas Jr; Five grandchildren: Jaden Chase, Cherish Douglas Martinez, Charisha Douglas, Charles Lee Brandon Douglas Jr. and Teremiah Holloway; Four siblings: Lloyd Douglas of South Bend, Katherine (Ladelle) McBride of Detroit, MI, Bernadine (Kenny) Payton of Ft.Wayne, IN and Louise Jackson of Farmington Hills, MI and a host of cousins, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband: Charles L. Brown, Parents: Tommie and Lucille Douglas, Five siblings: Don Turner Jr., Tony Reed, Kenneth D. Dwitt, Tommie Harris, and Doris J. Douglas-Spiess.
